When the sitting governor is caught in a compromising scandal, the shy and awkward Ned Newley is suddenly thrust into a campaign for governor. Though he’s genuinely gifted at understanding government and policy, Ned is absolutely terrified of public speaking — a serious problem for any political candidate. Complicating matters further is a bubbly temporary office worker who eagerly offers advice and opinions, despite being hilariously unqualified. The result is a fast-paced comedy full of misunderstandings, political chaos, and sharp humor that skewers politics without taking sides.
